POSITION TITLE: Elementary Music Teacher (Beginning the 2023-24 School Year)

DEADLINE: April 1, 2023 or until filled

SALARY: Per FTPO Contract

Frankenmuth Schools seeks a dynamic individual to teach music in grades K-4. This position requires the applicant to be highly qualified with an eligible and applicable Michigan Teaching Certificate in content area with the endorsement of JX or JQ.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Has a valid Michigan Elementary teaching certificate

Music Education (JX or JQ) K12 Endorsement

Knowledge of and able to apply best instructional practices essential to inquiry-based teaching and learning

Strong personal integrity and professional ethics

Strong classroom management and organizational skills

Possess good communication skills

Positive behavioral support experience preferred

Plan for and deliver quality music education instruction and related activities.

Knowledge of PBIS, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support

Familiarity with Tiered Systems of Support, both academically and behaviorally

Experience working with students of varying academic, social, and emotional abilities

Possess good communication and organizational skills

Ability to hold conversations with teachers about student achievement data

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ability to plan and coordinate with general education teachers

Ability to coordinate/organize a variety of school-level performances, programming, and student events

Ability to maintain accurate records and meet multiple deadlines

A desire to continue to grow as a professional

Demonstrate knowledge, skill, and ability to provide instruction in an elementary music setting with appropriate musical skills for singing, playing, conducting, and musical literature necessary for the realization of grade-level standards

Understands the diversity of student learning styles and can skillfully prepare and apply differentiated learning experiences

Demonstrates ability to use data to drive instructional decisions

Computer literate with a proven proficiency to effectively apply and integrate technology to support meaningful teaching and successful student learning

Experience/training in Restorative Practices, PLCs, and Trauma Informed Care is preferred

Ability to develop/sustain positive working relationships with students, staff, and the school community

Motivates students and influences their behavior

Creates and executes clear, logical instructional plans collaboratively that produce strong results in student learning

Maintains and communicates standards of pupil behavior and classroom management expectations for the purpose of providing a safe and secure learning environment

Creates and thrives in a professional environment that is one of mutual respect, teamwork, and accountability

Maintain the drive for results by using data-informed decision-making, demonstrating persistence, directness, and the ability to monitor and plan ahead

Understands and implements Board of Education Policy, Administrative Guidelines, and organizational practices for the purpose of consistency and compliance
