Probation: 3 months

Job Requirements

Language: English and/or Bilingual

Education/Credentials: Postgraduates preferred. Completion of Bachelor of Education or Master’s degree Credentials (Preferred but not a deal breaker) (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.)

Area of Focus: High School Mathematics (all grades – specifically MCR3U, MHF4U and MCV4U)

Experience: 1 Year or more in tutoring/teaching (preferred)

Security and Safety: Criminal Record Check – Level 3 (Vulnerable Sector)

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure with high attention to detail; Ability to understand and implement course material; Capability of teaching the subject independently; Demonstrate and supervise if applicable.

Personal Suitability: Organized, flexible, reliable with excellent oral communication, effective interpersonal skills, and excellent written communication. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about teaching and has a strong willingness to go above and beyond to help their students succeed; Strong communication and student engagement skills; Experience in teaching/consulting students with diverse cultural backgrounds; Strong Problem solving and Job task planning/organizing skills; Basic Computer skills and working knowledge of different applications (ex; MS Suite, MS Teams, etc.); a professional image and positive attitude.


  • Reviewing classroom or curricula topics and assignments
  • Assisting students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research, and other academic tasks
  • Working with students to help them understand key concepts, especially those learned in the classroom
  • Teaching skills to improve academic performance, including study strategies, note-taking skills, and approaches to answering test questions
  • Demonstrating academic best practices for specific subjects and assignments, including research, and writing tactics
  • Developing and distributing teaching materials to supplement classroom lessons, including study guides
  • Conducting practice tests to track progress, identify areas of improvement and help set goals for exam preparation
  • Providing students positive and constructive feedback
  • Offering feedback on progress to students’ parents and teachers where appropriate
